- White Teeth wins at TV awards (18:34) - The BBC is reporting that the TV adaptation of Zadie Smith's White Teeth has won several awards at the Monte Carlo Television Festival. I've yet to see the TV series but if it's anything like the book, this is a...

- Why the Beeb is so great (16:57) - The BBC is so impressive because it possesses a reach and versatility that I simply haven't seen anywhere else. And, for that, Britain and Britons should be proud, and the rest of the world (and I hate to even type this, but it's true) should be grateful.

- High-speed walkway in Paris (13:06) - The French are sick and tired of walking, so they've invented a fast-moving walkway (check out the neat-o animation). Actually sounds like a great idea! Aside from the fact that it moves people around faster, it'll persuade people to walk...

I found nothing that seemed to fit the bill and The Fella is a response to that lack.

- Two reasons to be cheerful (14:51) - These guys are Alec and Owen, our twin sons who were born on May 18, 2003. I'll write more about their long, hard journey to be born, and how we traveled it with them. For now, it's enough to note...

- What's all this? (14:43) - It seems that I've managed to install this Movable Type gizmo and can henceforth inflict all manner of nonsense on anyone hardy enough to visit these pages. The next step is to come up with a sensible idea of what...
